This Sunday I will be competing in my first ever 10K race. Competing may not be the right word because I certainly am not attempting to place among the top runners, but I will be competing against myself for what I hope will be my best race pace yet. In addition to the accomplishment of finishing my first 10K, I am using it as my entry into a Summer Virtual Run as well.
Never heard of a virtual run? I hadn’t either until I saw this post on Toni’s blog Running, Loving, Living. This sounds like an awesome way to keep me extra motivated during my race on Sunday, plus there is an opportunity for awesome prizes! If you are interested in joining me and the other runners in this virtual run (you can do a 5K, 10K, or both), sign up soon! Your run has to be completed before Monday, June 25 and you must post your time to Toni’s blog by June 28. All of the prizes will be randomly awarded, so you don’t have to be an advanced runner to win!
Your run does not have to be part of an actual, real-world race to be used, just make sure you keep track of your time so you can post your results for the virtual race. Check it out and share in the comments if you decide to join!
