About Me

Hello, and welcome to Fighting for Wellness!

Healthy Living Summit cocktail party August 2012-001

I’m Becki, a Boston transplant (10+ years) from the mountains of North Carolina. I am an ACSM certified personal trainer with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. I currently work as the Systems Coordinator for a multi-state student support intervention in elementary and middle schools.

I am passionate about running and fitness in general, surprising given that I didn’t run my first mile until 2010. I am now a three-time marathoner! Since graduating from college I have lost 80-90 pounds (and counting!) and have dedicated myself to healthy living.

before and after

I started this blog to help people like me. This blog is for people who have or still do struggle with their weight, depression or anxiety, food addiction, self-doubt, or just being healthy and well in general.

Every day is still a fight for me. I battled food addiction, inactivity, and depression for so long that I find myself slipping back that direction sometimes. So today, like every day, I’m fighting for my own wellness, but also the wellness of others. I want to inspire others to do the same to help get their lives where they want and deserve them to be.

Join me in this journey where I’ll post about successes and setbacks, including workouts, recipes, products I love, and more! This journey won’t be easy, but nothing worth having ever is. Your life is worth the fight.

If you’d like to get in touch, fill out the form below or visit the Contact page.

Keep fighting,

Thanks, Jenn! Working on the emotional and spiritual well-being can be tough, but it’s so great to have the support of others who are doing the same. 🙂

    Wonderful blog Becki!
Like you, I spend my professional life trying to help others (specifically Massachusetts’ children & families) find answers, while personally I am prone to “forgetting about” my own wellness. Your blog speaks to so many of us! Thank you!
