Happy Monday, everyone! I’m back from Minneapolis and didn’t post for the weekend except for one scheduled post to thank my third sponsor for the trip. I didn’t post because I wanted to allow myself to fully experience the weekend without worrying about whether my posts had successfully published and responding to any comments. It would have driven me crazy. Self care, people.
I am not going to post my usual Marathon Monday post today because that’s another thing I decided not to stress about while I was in Minneapolis. Although I did go for a short 2-mile run in the hotel gym on Friday, marathon training wasn’t a priority for me.
I will be posting recaps of #hls13 over the next few days, but I wanted to use this particular post to thank everyone for making the summit happen and for the amazing experiences I had.
First I want to thank all three of my sponsors once again. REBOOT, Drink Chia, and Swanson Health Products all made it possible for me to make it to the Summit this year. I had an amazing time chatting with people about the companies and products and appreciated all of the questions and feedback. I also got to meet Kaitlin from Swanson, which was great!
Next I want to thank all the summit sponsors. The swag at this year’s summit was amazing (it was last year as well) and I’m pretty sure I have enough snacks to last me for months. I especially want to thank Wild Harvest for their continued generosity and for opening their doors to several bloggers on Friday.
Also a huge thanks to everyone at the Hilton Minneapolis. The staff was helpful and kind, something I’ve found isn’t always the case at hotels even during conferences.
I also want to thank all of the planning team members and everyone who hosted mini mingles, even those I wasn’t able to attend. This weekend felt like it went off completely without a hitch and that did not go unnoticed by the attendees. I spoke with several other bloggers who were incredibly impressed with the organization and success of such a large event and all of the fun opportunities. Also a huge thank you to all of the presenters; the sessions were fantastic!
I want to also thank Heather and Julie specifically and especially for a truly amazing weekend. Although I met you both last year, it was this year that I felt I really got to know more about both of you and could really appreciate all the hard work you put into making HLS happen. It was an honor to lead a panel at the first summit that the two of you planned alone and I can honestly say that you ROCKED it! You two are amazing ladies who really have it together. I’m so impressed with all that you two do for HLS as well as throughout the rest of the year with Healthy Living Blogs. Thank you for letting me be part of this truly inspirational experience.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who came to our session on Blogger Self-Care and for the amazing response we got from you. Hearing the ways you all plan to integrate more self-care into your lives is truly touching. It meant so much to have you all share your questions, thoughts, and tips during the session and to hear that you were able to take away several nuggets from our panel. Special thanks to Stina and Laura for live-tweeting and live-blogging our session, respectively. Extra special thanks to my co-panelists Elizabeth and Jessica. We did it, ladies!
I’m not sure my recaps later this week will do the 2013 Healthy Living Summit justice, but I’m certainly going to try. Let me preface those posts by letting you know that the location and dates for #hls14 have been announced and you need to attend. Come to Madison, WI from September 11, 2014 – September 14, 2014 for the 2014 Healthy Living Summit! Seriously you guys, you’re crazy if you don’t.
